Data unloading with SQLULDR2

Another nice tool i found is sqluldr2, available here: http://www.dbatools.net/index.html

It’s fast, has some nice features like encrypting passwords and gzip-on-the-fly and is configurable by a parameter file. but i have to admin, it also has some quirks. the error reporting could be better, especially if something’s wrong with the parameter file. and if you think about using it, always check the return code. if for some reason sqluldr2 cannot write the data to disk, it will silently discard the data and report successful completion instead. at least it sets the return code right, so if it returns something > 0, be alarmed. Unfortunately Fangxin Lou, the author, has no plans to release the source code. I personally think he should but it’s his tool and he can do whatever he want. Maybe he changes his mind someday.

If you need a fast CSV unloader, give it a try.
